UGHHHH! ANNOYED

I was doing a list of online polls and this result has REALLY pissed me off.

19:46 Darwin vs. Lincoln
Darwin, Lincoln both born on February 12, 1809. Who had more impact?

A. Charles Darwin
B. Abraham Lincoln

A. 25% said Charles Darwin
B. 74% said Abraham Lincoln

WTF?! Are they serious?!

One AMERICAN president from a long line of presidents or a guy that questioned classical theism and who's work is still relevant and used today as the base of modern science.
:@
Don't get me wrong Lincoln was a great president but the only people who can appreciate his achievements are Americans, while Darwin's work is relevant to everyone!

The Boat That Rocked

I am in AWE of this movie, I can't believe it got such average reviews, it's FANTASTIC! And what is weird, the deleted scenes are funnier than the clips in the film, which is so silly.
This scene is so fantastic.

I ship Simon with EVERYONE XD

Nostalgia is such a bitch.

I'm currently sat with Sammy Davis Jr's book of photos in my lap and my gosh I'm crying.
Looking at photos of his parents and of Frank & Dino, it's so sad to know that they're not with us now :'(
In my own selfish way I also get sad over old photographs coz I know that I'll never be able to go back to that time period and experience the life that my heroes and inspirations lived.

This video kills me, when Frank says all tearful 'Sam you know I love you, I can't say it any more than that, you're my brother.'

I want a relationship like theirs.

Me being a Trekkie

I bought a drawing tablet thingy today, having so much fun with it, there was loads of people saying how they can't use it but seriously what is the fuss?! It's simple!
I also don't have TV downstairs any more thanks to the digital switch over so the household has been cramped into my room to watch freeview XD

I'm not sure whether I should take me old Star Trek poster with me to university, I'll feel lost without it.

My tablet makes drawing love hearts all over Tuppy very easy XD
He is asleep on my lap as we speak, and Nala is cuddled into my legs (she's too big for the lap ;P)

I actually found fanfic!

I was tidying my room (getting ready to leave in just over two weeks) and I found yet another few scraps of paper with fanfic ideas and lines.
Turns out I actually wrote bits to a Frank Sinatra & Sammy Davis Jr fic.
I wish there was a fandom, they are easily my OTP of OTPs.
I find their relationship endearing, the setting the fic would have exciting, the time period inspirational and society at the time controversial. They make a perfect slash pairing.

Since the first time I saw ^^ that picture I've always wanted to go back in time and see what they were talking about, what was Sammy saying to Frank, or were they just sharing a silent moment.
Although I'm glad I can't 'coz I'm pretty sure it'd be a lot less romantic than what my brain wants me to believe.

THIS FILM IS AMAZING!

OMG! I rented it from blockbuster today (looking in the world cinema section makes you seem a lot more intelligent and you've got more chance of bagging a film XD) and I actually think it's in my top 10 EVER films.
Funniest thing I've seen all year! AMAZING!
And I totally ship Francois & Belone!
Such a touching yet HILARIOUS film, deserves a lot more praise than it got.

Dare I say...I SHIP IT!

Okay so from episode one I was like Gabriel/Millais
then it moved to Ruskin/Millais..
then it moved to Gabriel/Maniac..

BUT

After a re-watch of the last episode it's Gabriel & Fred ALL THE WAY!
There's only a few times Fred can say 'I didn't do it for you' without me thinking 'You so did' :P

Also it seemed, at the end, that they were just left together, I love their weird, twisted relationship.
I love that in the end Gabriel was all Fred had.
And, no surprise, I loved the scene after Lizzie's death where Gabriel & Fred were cuddled up on the floor in the dark. So beautiful.
They are my Desperate Romantics OTP ♥
Even though, if I were to ship the real pre-raphaelites it would a Millais/Gabriel/Hunt OT3 ;P

might make a fanvid later..

The Hunchback of Notre Dame

This came out when I was 5/6 so I think I can be excused for not understanding it's depth.
Re-watch some of the scenes I am shocked by how it was actually allowed to be released.
Anyone who knows the slightest bit of info about disney knows that it doesn't usually touch on religion but when it does OMG! (no pun intended)

People on youtube say that that scene ^^ shows Frollo confessing his sins for killing the 'gypsies'.
NO! It's obviously about him realising his lust for Esmeralda.
That scene always scared me but looking at it now it's haunting. It's so deep and brilliant, it's like Eric's love for Christine in the Phantom of the Opera or Ferdinand's love for his sister in The Duchess of Malfi.
Also the way they have shown the contrast between Quasimodo & Frollo is a stroke of genius by Disney.
The imagery, the haunting sounds of the monks, the vocals..oof it sends shivers down my spine.

HOW HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS?!?!

WAKE UP SIR!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wake-Up-Sir-Jonathan-Ames/dp/074344907X/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1251286572&sr=8-14

Review
A. M. Homesauthor of "Music for Torching""Wake Up, Sir!" takes on the big themes -- the homosexual question, the Jewish question, the great American novel question, and more -- in this witty, wild romp about a somewhat disturbed young writer. Comic and incredibly accurate: if anyone ever wanted to know what a writer has to endure in order to produce, Jonathan Ames has made it perfectly clear. "Wake Up, Sir!" is bound to delight.

Product Description
WAKE UP, SIR! is an homage to the novels and stories of P.G. Wodehouse. It is the story of a young alcoholic man, Alan Blair, and his valet, Jeeves. Now this Jeeves is not the same Jeeves as featured in Wodehouse - the fact that he possesses the same name is simply a mad coincidence. But, there is something curious about young Alan's valet - is he really there? Is he a mirage, a fantasy, an alcoholic hallucination, an invisible friend? Or does he really exist (as much as anyone can exist in fiction)? Regardless, Jeeves is there in one way or another as Ames brilliantly mimics the structure of many Wodehouse adventures. Instead of visiting a country estate, Alan and Jeeves go to an artist colony where Alan hopes to finish his novel, quit his drinking and possibly fall in love - three reasonable things for anyone to want ...whether attended to by a valet or not.

OMG I NEED to read this!

Sad to say that, Torchwood

makes me sick now.
I can't look at a youtube video or a pic without feeling hatred for it.
I will never again get so wrapped up in a fandom, it's been weeks and weeks but I still can't get over it.
I hope jack doesn't return to Doctor Who, and, I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm glad Russell T Davies is gone because he killed Torchwood, and Doctor Who was in the decline.
I just want old Who...with Matt Smith.

Desperate Romantics has finished :'(

Still cried even though I knew Lizzie was going to die, damn it being based on real-life!
I ship them all now though, it's terrible but I am convinced of the pre-raphaelite brothers loving ;P

You have been watching 90's special is HILARIOUS!
michaelterry

'It makes me mad!'

It really annoys me that Eric Idle & John Cleese were the two pythons that wanted to quit and yet they're the two pythons that seem to exploit it's legacy the most.
I mean we have Eric's blatant greed and recycling of old material and then we have John Cleese selling t-shirts at the disgusting price of near $300.
Have they both gone mad?!

And yet you have the two Terrys and Michael who were 'okay' with carrying on with Python and they're the three that have become successful in their own right.

I feel Graham is left out of this post, so here's a pic of him in shades ♥

I cried

that documentary about Prince John.
I cried a lot.
The ending, Lalla had that note that said 'Nanny I love you, Johnnie'
:''(

As someone who has a granddad with epilepsy, I found it quite hard to watch.

I'm convinced

Dean sings this about Frank:

I haven't been lurking on communities or updating my journal as much, been really busy with uni stuff.
Will be writing more soon though due to the nature of my degree..think I might share some pieces on here if anyone would want to read them..

Watching Fred & Ginger dancing to 'Cheek to Cheek', I hope I will be that in love one day.
